Hindustan Surkhiyan Desk: The government officials are merely servants of the republic and they are not very very important person (VVIP), the High Court observed today.
Only the president and prime minister of the country are the VVIP (very very important person) and security issues are involved with regard to their movements, said the HC bench of Justice FRM Nazmul Ahasan and Justice KM Kamrul Kader during hearing a writ petition filed in connection with death of Titash Ghosh.
Following the petition, the HC bench issued a rule asking the authorities concerned of the government to explain in four weeks why they should not be directed to give Tk 3 crore as compensation to the family of Titash Ghosh, who died in an ambulance on a ferry on the way to Dhaka on July 25.
