India’s Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) today arrested actress Rhea Chakraborty after questioning her for three consecutive days in connection with drugs-related allegations in the Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput death case.
Rhea was arrested from Mumbai this afternoon, our New Delhi correspondent reports quoting NCB officials.
The NCB probe into the drug angle began after the agency stumbled on WhatsApp chats retrieved from Rhea’s phone, which revealed conversations around procuring drugs allegedly for Sushant.
Rhea (28), who has been named as an accused in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into 34-year-old Sushant’s death in his apartment in Mumbai on June 14, has denied consuming drugs. Her brother Showik was arrested last week.
