Amother-daughter duo beat a man to death in Coimbatore on Tuesday as he would make obscene calls to her.
32-year-old Dhanlakshmi was living with her mother Malika in Periyar Nagar in Karamdai.
Last week, she received a call from an N Periyasamy. Dhanlakshmi told the man he had dialled a wrong number.
But he continued to call her repeatedly and make indecent comments.
Dhanlakshmi informed her mother about the obscene calls and the duo invited the man to their house in a bid to identify the caller.
On Tuesday afternoon, the 46-year-old man showed up at their house and an altercation ensued between him and the women.
They tied him to a tree and beat him up with logs and he received severe injuries on his legs, face, head and lips.
The mother-daughter duo threw the man’s body near a nearby railway line in an attempt to dispose it off. People in the vicinity who saw the incident went on to report this with the Karamadai police.
A case under Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code has been filed against Dhanalakshmi and her mother.❐
