During a high-level meeting regarding Covid management and reopening of schools and colleges, Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Saturday decided to commence 9th, 10th and PUC classes from August 23 in the state
The Chief Minister held a detailed discussion with senior officials of the government and experts regarding the reopening of primary and high schools.

It was decided to commence the 9th, 10th and PU classes from August 23. Due to the Covid situation in the state, the decision regarding reopening of primary schools and 8th standard would be taken by the end of August.
‘It is decided to conduct classes on alternative days. Guidelines on Covid norms that need to be followed during the reopening of schools would be issued’ the Chief Minister told reporters after the meeting.
It is also decided to impose weekend curfew in border districts of Kerala and Maharashtra and instead of 10 pm night curfew it was decided to execute night curfew from 9.00 pm. The Chief Minister instructed the IG& DG to implement the night curfew stringently.
Ministers Dr. C.N.Ashwathnarayan, Dr.K.Sudhakar, experts Dr.Deviprasad Shetty, and Dr.C.N.Manjunath, Dr.Sudarashan, Technical Committee Chairman, P.Ravikumar, Chief Secretary, and others officials were present.
