JAMMU: Devender Singh Rana and Surjeet Singh Slathia, two former National Conference (NC) MLAs, returned to Jammu on Saturday to attend a grand reception, with Rana lauding the BJP’s cause.On October 10, the two prominent Dogra faces of the NC from the Jammu region resigned from the party’s basic membership.Rana, a former Nagrota MLA, said he would not compromise with the interests of the whole Jammu and Kashmir region, even though it meant sacrificing his political career.Rana said that the Jammu Declaration, which is of Jammu, for Jammu, and by Jammu, is a story about inclusive Jammu and Kashmir aiming for socioeconomic, political, and economic parity between all the regions and sub-regions, and that the people’s show of such reverence and enthusiasm is indeed a sign of respect for the Jammu Declaration.

In the meantime, Slathia expressed his thanks to the people for lavishing them with love, claiming that this shows their determination to see Jammu prosper economically, socially, and politically.Besides garlanding them and distributing flower petals on them, the assembly, which included young and old, sang praises to Rana and Slathia.Various musicians from the Jammu region also strut on drum beats.
