The Supreme Court was responding to Nupur Sharma’s plea seeking transfer of all FIRs registered against her to Delhi. Her lawyer said that Nupur Sharma is facing threats. Justice Surya Kant said, “She has to face threats or has she become a security threat? The way she has ignited sentiments in the entire country. This woman alone is responsible for what is happening in the country.” “
Independent MLA Nupur Sharma moved the Supreme Court seeking transfer of the FIR against her to Delhi. An FIR has been registered against Nupur Sharma in several states including Mumbai and Pune. Former BJP spokesperson has told the Supreme Court that her life is in danger. The SC has said that Sharma’s remarks are “disturbing”. Senior advocate Maninder Singh questioned, “What is his duty to make these remarks?” He said he apologized for the comments and retracted the comments.
