The Supreme Court said that former BJP leader Nupur Sharma, whose remarks on Prophet Muhammad generated massive anger in Gulf countries and protested across the country. Violence took place at many places. Now Nupur Sharma should come forward and apologize to the whole country. Justice Surya Kant said, “We have seen the debate on how she was provoked. But the way she said all this and later said that she was a lawyer, it is shameful. She should apologize to the entire nation.”

The Supreme Court was responding to Nupur Sharma’s plea seeking transfer of all FIRs registered against her to Delhi. Her lawyer said that Nupur Sharma is facing threats. Justice Surya Kant said, “She has to face threats or has she become a security threat? The way she has ignited sentiments in the entire country. This woman alone is responsible for what is happening in the country.” “
