Hindustan Surkhiyan Desk:Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday escalated his attack on the Narendra Modi government saying the country at present is without a finance minister and the economy is collapsing under the ruling NDA dispensation.

He also took a veiled attack at Prime Minister Narendra Modi saying “Captain DeMo is fast asleep”.

He hit out at the government after Union Minister Arun Jaitley announced that Chief Economic Advisor Arvind Subramanian was leaving the Finance Ministry.

Gandhi took a dig at the Union minister for breaking the news on Facebook and questioned whether Jaitley, who held the finance portfolio before undergoing a kidney transplant surgery in mid-May, continued to be the finance minister.

“Ex? FM is locked in his room, breaking news on Facebook. BJP Treasurer has the keys to the Indian Economy,” said Gandhi in a series of tweets.

“The brightest flee the sinking ship, as the ‘invisible hand’ of the RSS steers it onto the rocks.

“Meanwhile, Captain DeMo is fast asleep. It’s crazy out there!”

His tweet came hours after Union Minister Arun Jaitley shared in a Facebook post the news about Chief Economic Advisor Arvind Subramanian’s term not getting extended.

The Congress also slammed the government following Subramanian’s resignation, saying the financial experts are fed up of its “economic mismanagement”.

“Financial experts’ of Modi government are completely fed up by its colossal economic mismanagement, tepid economic reforms and financial anarchy,” Congress media in-charge Randeep Singh Surjewala said on Twitter.

“CEA, Arvind Subramanian’s resignation after the stepping down of Niti Aayog’s Arvind Panagriya and RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan comes as no suprise!,” he said.
