Hindustan Surkhiyan Desk:Salman Khan’s ‘Bharat’ became the talk of the town after Priyanka Chopra walked out of the film citing her engagement with Nick Jonas as the reason. After days of speculation, director Ali Abbas Zafar roped in Katrina Kaif for his dream project. Dabangg Khan welcomed his ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ co-star Katrina in the film in his own style. It was said that Kat is doing the film out of respect and love for her close friend Zafar and Salman.

The ‘Thugs of Hindostan’ actress, while interacting with the reporters at the recently held 2018 Vogue Awards, said that it was the ‘wonderful script’ which made her sign the film.  The ‘Zero’ actress said that her close friend Zafar had sent her the script and it was the character and writing which made her say yes to ‘Bharat’.

“It’s not like that. I don’t see it that way at all. Ali Abbas Zafar is very dear friend of mine. We have worked with each other earlier in ‘Mere Brother Ki Dulhan’ and ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ and both films were extremely successful. More importantly, I had a great experience working on those two films,’’ IANS quoted Katrina as saying.

Katrina also revealed that the two of them very close and her ‘Mere Brother Ki Dulhan’ director has kept a cute nickname for her-‘goldfish’.

‘’He calls me Goldfish… He said, ‘I am sending you a script and just react to it and tell me what you feel about it. When I read the script, I thought it was an absolutely wonderful script and I felt extremely excited about the character which I am playing in the film. Therefore, I am very happy to be part of the film,” the news agency quoted the ‘Bang Bang’ actress as saying.

The gorgeous actress will start shooting for the film from September after wrapping up her other work commitments. Talking about ‘Bharat’, the film also stars Tabu, Disha Patani, Nora Fatehi, Aasif Sheikh and Sunil Grover in pivotal roles. The flick, which is an adaptation of South Korean drama ‘Ode to my Father’, is slated to hit the silver screens on Eid next year.

Katrina has two big films lined up for release this year- ‘Thugs of Hindostan’ and ‘Zero’.  The Bollywood diva will be reuniting with Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan for these two much awaited films.
