Hindustan Surkhiyan Desk: As life is gradually returning back to the track in Kerala, after heavy floods paralysed the state; leaving several homeless. Even though the world has expressed solace and has extended a helping hand; BJP MLA’s statement has salted its wounds.
Vijaypoura MLA, Basangouda Patil Yatnal from Karnataka said that “Cow slaughter led to floods in Kerala”. He further said that the state has been punished for “hurting Hindu sentiments”.
Basangouda is famous for stealing headlines over his controversial statements.
What did Basanhouda Patil say?
BJP MLA Basangouda Patil Yatnal said “If Hindu sentiments will be hurt then the religion will punish them. You could take an example of what happened in Kerala. It is known devbhumi (land of the lord), but cow slaughter takes place over here. Within one year after beef festival, the floods have taken over the state”.

Insult of god and goddesses led to floods: Swami Chakrapani
The leader of Hindu Mahasabha, Swami Chakrapani in an interview to a news channel said that “This natural disaster is because of the cow slaughter in Kerala and because of insulting the gods and goddesses and because of hurting the sentiments of Hindus”.
