Shakib, Mahmdullah, Liton move up the rankings

Hindustan Surkhiyan Desk: Bangladesh all-rounders Shakib Al Hasan and Mahmudullah Riyad moved up the ICC rankings ladder after the conclusion of the T20I series against West Indies.

Shakib and Riyad both moved up in the rankings for T20 batsmen, bowlers and all-rounders. Shakib struck 103 runs with a 61-run innings in the first T20 and followed up with a brilliant 26-ball 42 in the second T20I to move up by seven positions to 37th in the list for batsmen. His eight wickets in the series also saw him improve his stature among bowlers as he moved up three places to seventh. Shakib also moved up by one place in the all-rounder rankings to move to second (He is also second in ODIs while in Tests he remains the top-ranked all-rounder in the world).

Mahmudullah moved up the all-rounder rankings as well after his impressive showing with the bat and ball. He struck 66 runs in the series including a 43-run knock in the second ODI and with the ball he bagged five wickets to move to fourth place among all-rounders. He moved up two places to become the 31st ranked T20 batsmen and improved his position by 17 places as he jumped to 51 among bowlers.

Liton Das, who played two belligerent knocks in the series as he scored a 34-ball 60 in the second T20I before hitting a 25-ball in the 43 in the third T20I to end up as the highest-scoring Bangladesh player in the series. He moved up to a career-best 47th place among batsmen.

Gained two positions to reach 31st among batsmen

Advanced 17 places to 51st rank for bowlers

He has moved from fifth to fourth position in the all-rounders’ list.
