Hindustan Surkhiyan Desk: The stage is set for the 2nd phase for the ongoing Lok Sabha election. For the election which is scheduled on April 18, as many as 97 constituencies will go for polling in the second phase of Lok Sabha election 2019.
The process of nomination had begun with the issuance of notification by Election Commission on March 19 and continued till March 26. Scrutiny of the nomination papers was held on March 27 and the last day of withdrawing nomination was on March 29.
High-decibel campaigning for the second phase of Lok Sabha elections will end today. As the silence period will start, the election rallies and street corner meetings will end in the 97 constituencies. This includes all 39 Parliamentary constituencies of Tamil Nadu, 14 in Karnataka, 10 Maharashtra, 8 Uttar Pradesh, 5 each in Assam, Bihar and Odisha, 3 each in Chhattisgarh and West Bengal, and 2 in Jammu and Kashmir and one each in Manipur, Tripura and Puducherry.
After the polling across all the 7 phases ending on May 19, 2019, the votes will be counted on May 23. The first of the seven-phase polls were held on April 11.
