Hindustan Surkhiyan Desk: BJP President Amit Shah has been discharged from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi, where he was being treated for swine flu.

Shah admitted to AIIMS on Wednesday after contracting the disease.

“Shah was discharged at 10.20AM from AIIMS after recovering from swine flue,” said an AIIMS official.

Shah took to Twitter to inform about his health. “By the grace of almighty, now I am completely fine and have returned home after being discharged from hospital today. I am thankful to all of you for your prayers.”

BJP’s media cell convenor Anil Baluni  said in a tweet: “ It is a matter of great relief and pleasure for us that our President Amit Shahji has been discharged from AIIMS. He is completely healthy and have reached his residence. Thanks to all the well wishers and party cadres for their wishes.”

BJP leader and in-charge of the party’s IT cell Amit Malviya also said Shah was fine and has returned home from the hospital. “BJP President Shri Amit Shah has been discharged from AIIMS. He is fine and back home now. Thanks for all your wishes and messages,” Malviya tweeted.

54-year-old Shah was admitted to AIIMS on Wednesday. He was under the observation of AIIMS Director Randeep Guleria.

On Wednesday , the BJP president took to Twitter to announce about his illness. “I have been diagnosed with swine flu for which the treatment is underway. With God’s grace and good wishes from all of you, I will recover soon,” he wrote.

Shah was hospitalised after he faced breathing problem. The team found chest infection. He reached the hospital at around 9 pm and is admitted in the old private ward of the hospital. Shah was suffering from fever for two days.

As Shah remained in hospital at the time of crucial political crisis in Karnataka, a heated controversy grew around his ailment as well, with Congress MP B K Hariprasad mocking Shah’s health condition. In an insensitive comment Hariprasad called Shah’s illness as ‘suar ka zukam (cold because of pigs)’ just a day after Shah was diagnosed with Swine Flu.
