New York: A horrific mass shooting shook Brooklyn early Sunday morning, leaving three men dead and eight others wounded at the “Taste of the City Lounge” in Crown Heights. Police confirmed that among the injured are five men and three women, ranging in age from 27 to 61.
The incident occurred around 3:30 a.m. when multiple gunmen opened fire inside the crowded lounge. NYPD officers recovered at least 36 shell casings from the scene along with a firearm. No arrests have been made so far, but investigators believe more than one shooter was involved.
Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch said the wounded victims are in stable condition and are being treated at local hospitals. She noted, “In 2025, New York City has seen record-low levels of gun violence. This tragic incident stands out as a rare and unfortunate exception.”

Local residents reported that the venue has seen prior violent incidents, including a shooting last year that did not result in fatalities. Community members have raised concerns over increasing disorder and lack of safety at the establishment in recent years.
Eyewitnesses described the terrifying scene: loud bursts of gunfire, shattered glass, and panic, as the restaurant floor quickly turned into a bloodstained battlefield.
Authorities are now reviewing CCTV footage and gathering evidence to identify the suspects. City officials and community leaders expressed deep concern and vowed to bring those responsible to justice as swiftly as possible.
