Hindustan Surkhiyan Desk: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has congratulated Australia’s newly elected Prime Minister Scott Morrison on his assumption of office.
“On behalf of the government and the people of Bangladesh and on my own behalf, I’ve the great pleasure in extending our warmest felicitations to you on your assumption of office as Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Australia,” she said in a message today.
“Your election as the leader of the Liberal Party and consequent appointment to the high office of Prime Minister reflect the trust and confidence that the Liberal Party and the people of Australia have reposed in your leadership and wisdom to lead the country,” Sheikh Hasina said.
She said Bangladesh deeply values her relations with Australia. “It’s my firm conviction that the close bond of friendship that has evolved over the years between our people and two countries will further be strengthened during your term in office. I look forward to working closely with you,” Hasina added.
