Central forces teams, including 11 National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), two Army, and two Defence Service Corps (DSC) have been deployed in Keralas south and central districts.
Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala), October 17, 2017: Following heavy rainfall, the central forces teams, including 11 National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), two Army, and two Defence Service Corps (DSC), have been deployed in Kerala’s south and central districts.In a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday, CPI Member of Parliament Binoy Viswam said that heavy rainfall is being experienced across Kerala.
The situation is worsening rapidly as a result of constant rainfall, and it requires the absolute help of all authorities at both the State and Central Government, it read.As heavy rain continues to fall in Kerala, six districts have been put on red alert.
In Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki, and Thrissur districts, a red alert has been issued.In the southern state of Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Alapuzha, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, and Wayanad have been issued an Orange alert.
