New York | August 4, 2025: The annual “Community BBQ 2025,” organized by Jamaica Bangladesh Friends Society Inc. New York, was held at Cunningham Park in Fresh Meadows, New York — transforming the park into a vibrant hub of joy and unity among Bangladeshi immigrants.
From 12 PM to 7 PM, the event drew an enthusiastic crowd, turning the day into a celebration of culture, connection, and community spirit.
Attendees included officials from the Bangladesh Society, respected professionals from various sectors of Queens and New York, and hundreds of Bangladeshi families.
Distinguished guests at the event included Congresswoman Grace Meng, Queens Borough President Donovan Richards, and several other mainstream political and administrative figures, who praised the unity and contribution of the Bangladeshi community.
The event featured delicious food, games and entertainment for children, cultural performances, and an exciting raffle draw offering prizes such as laptops, smartwatches, headphones, and more.
Musical performances were presented by Shah Mahbub, Mariam Maria, and Nipa Zaman, adding a melodic and festive touch to the afternoon.
In his speech, Jamaica Bangladesh Friends Society President Fakhrul Islam Delwar expressed heartfelt thanks to all attendees. He stated, “Our efforts to develop and strengthen the community will continue. This gathering is more than a celebration — it’s a powerful affirmation of our cultural unity and shared identity.”
Key organizers of the event included Convener Mohammad J. Molla, Chief Coordinator Iqbal Ahmed, Member Secretary Naosad Haider, and other officials who ensured the event ran smoothly and joyfully.
Many attendees shared their appreciation, saying, “This was not just a BBQ — it was a meaningful gathering that strengthened the bonds of brotherhood, culture, and generational unity in the diaspora.”
