Hindustan Surkhiyan Desk: Palestine clinched the title of the fifth edition of the Bangabandhu Gold Cup after beating 10-man Tajikistan 4-2 on penalties in an entertaining final at the Bangabandhu National Stadium today.
Palestine, the top-ranked side of the tournament, played almost an hour with a man advantage after Tajikistan captain Fathtkullo Fathkhulloev was sent off for headbutting a Pelastine player in the 35th minute. However, the Tajiks fought bravely and took the game into extra time and penalties either both side failed to score despite getting number of chances.
Palestine goalkeeper Rami Hamada became the hero with two saves on penalties to help his side to the title of the prestigious six-team event.
