Hindustan Surkhiyan Desk: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday posted two pictures of him playing with a toddler on his official Instagram account. He referred to the baby as his “special friend”. “A very special friend came to meet me in Parliament today,” Modi wrote in the caption. The child in the photos is the grandson Satyanarayan Jatiya, a BJP MP from Madhya Pradesh. The pictures were shared amid a furore in the Parliament over US President Donald Trump’s Kashmir mediation claim.

Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah tweeted, “Cute pictures. While the opposition parties yell themselves hoarse demanding the PM explain last night’s mediation brouhaha he lets them know what he thinks of their demand by putting pictures like these on his Instagram feed.”

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump’s claim on Kashmir mediation led to angry reactions from the opposition in Parliament on Tuesday, as the government asserted that all outstanding issues between India and Pakistan can be discussed only bilaterally.

While Rajya Sabha witnessed repeated adjournments over the issue, the opposition walked out of Lok Sabha proceedings demanding a statement from the prime minister himself.

Soon after the House met for the day at 11 AM, opposition parties raked up the issue of Trump’s remarks made in the presence of Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan.

The US President had on Monday claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had asked him to play the role of a mediator on Kashmir.
