New York, August 15, 2025 – The Shah Foundation, dedicated to serving humanity, successfully held its blood drive in New York. The event was inaugurated and honored by New York State Assembly Member Steven Raga.
During the special ceremony, Assembly Member Raga presented the Shah Foundation with a Citation and recognized all foundation members with a Proclamation, acknowledging the foundation’s long-standing contributions to social, humanitarian, and healthcare services.
Inaugural Address and Recognition
In his inaugural address, Steven Raga said,
“The Shah Foundation is not only carrying out life-saving initiatives like blood donation but is also building bridges of unity within the community. Their work will continue to inspire generations.”
He further noted that the Citation and Proclamation were presented to commemorate the foundation’s remarkable contributions to community service.
Key Highlights of the Event
• Purpose: To address the shortage of blood in the community and raise awareness about life-saving blood donations.
• Collaboration: The experienced team from the New York Blood Center supported the successful organization of the event.
• Participation: From noon onwards, people from various walks of life donated blood, reflecting the active involvement of the community.
• Special Role: Residents of the Jackson Heights neighborhood played a vital role in making the event vibrant through their voluntary support and active participation.

Shah Choudhury, Founder and President of the Shah Foundation, said,
“It is our belief that humanity is for humanity, which inspires us to organize the blood drive every year. This recognition honors our work and motivates us to undertake even bigger initiatives in the future.”
He expressed heartfelt gratitude to all donors, volunteers, the Jackson Heights community, the New York Blood Center team, and other supporters.
The event began at 12:00 PM and continued throughout the day with enthusiasm and active participation, concluding successfully.
