Myanmar’s state councilor Aung San Suu Kyi, who was detained during the military coup, has said she is OK with a top official of her political party, the LLD. Ion

What’s more, a neighbor said Suu Kyi had been seen walking in her compound for some time. Other LLD members of parliament detained during the coup have also been allowed out of official residences.

However, it is not clear where he got this information. No statement has been issued by military authorities since Suu Kyi was arrested on Monday morning. In a statement issued before his arrest, he called on the people to resist the military coup.

An NLD leader, who did not want to be named, said they had learned that Suu Kyi had been placed under house arrest at her official residence in the capital, Nay Pyi Taw. The lawmaker said, “We have been told not to be afraid. Even then we are scared. We would be relieved to see a picture of him.

Yangon-based analyst Qin Jwin said Suu Kyi appears to be safe now. All sorts of situations say he was not in any danger.

Harvey Lemahiu, an analyst at the Lowe’s Institute in Australia, said: “The military has made a tactical decision to keep him a secret. They go to hide him from the public that there may be a movement around the place. Lemahiu added, “The army has an interest in keeping Suu Kyi well. Top army officials have realized that if he falls ill or dies while in custody, he will face intense public outrage.❐
