Arshdeep Singh struck twice in one over to dent Ireland’s start against India in New York. He claimed the wickets of Paul Stirling and Andrew Balbirnie in the third over of the innings.
Earlier, India captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted to bowl first.
India have dropped Kuldeep Yadav for the game tonight and the decision left legendary cricketer Sunil Gavaskar surprised.
“I thought they were going to pick Kuldeep Yadav. That comes as a little surprise. Other than that this side looks very good,” said Gavaskar after the toss. India have been grouped alongside Pakistan, Ireland, Canada and United States in Group A.
