Sultana Parvin Shimul, Dhaka: Shah Foundation, a New York-based organization, has distributed drinking water and juice to all classes of people in the busiest Mouchak area of Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh.
Water and juice were given out to the traffic cops, examinees, rickshaw pullers, bus drivers, and pedestrians on the open road in front of Fortune Market at Mouchak intersection today, Saturday, May 4.
Shah J. Choudhury, the founder and trustee of the Shah Foundation, said in this regard, “We always try to stand beside people in all kinds of disasters. The scorching heat is currently causing a great deal of suffering for daily wage earners and laborers. Considering the humanitarian aspect, Shah Foundation has made this meager attempt to relieve people’s thirst. We are aware of how insufficient our efforts are, but our initiative will be successful only if a few people get some peace of mind.”
Shah J. Choudhury added that they will continue this initiative of the Shah Foundation in the future.
The entire coordination of the event was under the direction of Mubin Khan, executive editor of Ruposi Bangla and the weekly The Generation. Local politician MR Wahab, assistant editor of Public Administration Makhdum Sami Kallol, tabla player of Bangladesh Betar Deepak Tewari and others were present there to provide necessary assistance.
