King Salman bin Abdul Aziz of Saudi Arabia has ordered Tarabi prayers to be performed at 10 rak’ats in Mecca and Medina this Ramadan, not 20 rak’ats. This instruction has been given so that the corona does not spread quickly among the worshipers during Tarabi prayers during Ramadan. It has also been warned that strict action will be taken to follow the instructions.
Sheikh Abdur Rahman Al Sudais, head of relations between the two main mosques in Saudi Arabia, said Tarabi’s prayers were being performed at 10 rak’ahs in view of the Corona outbreak.
In addition, the precautionary and protective measures taken by the presidency of the mosque and other organizations engaged in the service of Umrah performers must be strictly adhered to. Abdul Latif Al Sheikh said that Tarabi should be completed within half an hour during Ramadan.
The new guidelines were issued in a telegram issued by the country’s health ministry on Sunday to all ministry officials.❐
