New York:
A vibrant and heartwarming picnic took place on Saturday, June 28, at Cunningham Park in Queens, organized by the Jamaica Integrated Bangladeshi Officers Network (JIBON). The event, initiated by Bangladeshi police officers residing in Jamaica, Queens, turned into a festive gathering for members of the broader Bangladeshi-American community.

A number of distinguished community leaders and professionals attended the event. Notable among them were community activist Gias Ahmed, Senior Vice President of Bangladesh Society Mahiuddin Dewan, Chief Administrative Officer at the NYC Mayor’s Office Mir Bashar, mainstream political figures Fahad Solaiman, Fakhrul Islam Delwar, Dilip Nath, Ahmed Sohel, Police Officers Karam Chowdhury, Rasek Malik, Rajib Ghosh, Mohammad Halim, Sardar Mamun, Detective Masud Rana, Shah J. Chowdhury, Moinuzzaman Chowdhury, prominent businessmen A.K.M. Fazlul Haque and Shahriar Rahman (Shah), actress Richi Solaiman, Ajazul Naeem, and Naushad Hossain.

The day-long event featured a variety of fun activities, delicious food, cultural entertainment, and an exciting raffle draw for attendees. Guests spent the afternoon and evening laughing, connecting, and enjoying the vibrant atmosphere—fostering a sense of unity and belonging within the diaspora.

According to the organizers, JIBON (Jamaica Integrated Bangladeshi Officers Network) aims to continue hosting such events in the future to strengthen bonds among officers and enhance relationships with the broader community.
