Hindustan Surkhiyan Desk: Police are searching for four people all believed to be under the age of 15 who are accused in a violent robbery in a Brooklyn subway station.

New video shows the four suspects, three girls ages 12 to 15 and a young boy who investigators believe is only 11.

The group is accused of attacking a 22-year-old woman at the 4th Avenue and 9th Street R station in Gowanus around 9:30 p.m. last Wednesday.

The victim, who did not want to be identified, spoke to Eyewitness News.

“I do get anxious and worried that I might see those people again,” she said. “They started getting aggressive. They pulled my hair.”

Police say they grabbed the woman’s head, threw her on the ground and punched her before stealing $12 from her.

“During that time, I realize my bag got ripped away from my back,” she said. “I got up, and I realize the boy had it.”

The woman said she was kicked and spat on before the attackers took off.

“Nobody did anything,” she said. “There were so many adults on the platform. That was really disappointing.”
Commuters were shocked.

“That’s crazy, but that’s the world nowadays,” subway rider Tamika Lewis said.

It’s an unfortunate reality, they say, that has many straphangers watching their backs.

“You can’t be scared,” commuter Sylvia Dicks said. “You can just always be aware of what’s around you.”

While the citywide crime rate continues to fall, crime in the transit system is up roughly 4%.

Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
