This information has come up in the internationally renowned health research journal The Lancet.
Scientists from a number of institutions, including The Imperial College London in the UK, have studied 200 countries. The study involved 65 million (5 to 19 year olds) participants. The results are available.
Bangladesh has been named in the list of the youngest girls (19 years old) in an article published in the Lancet.
The other three countries are Nepal, Guatemala and Timor. Adolescents from shorter countries also weighed less than those from taller countries.
According to the results, the average height of 19-year-old girls in Bangladesh is the same as the average height of 11-year-olds in the Netherlands. Majid Ejati, senior author of the research report, said: This is important during the Cavid-19 epidemic. At this time many poor families are not getting adequate nutrition.
The tallest girls were 19-year-olds from the Netherlands, Montenegro, Denmark and Iceland, and the shortest were Romanians.
