By Fakhrul islam, Cumilla Correspondent: The body of Monir Mia, who had been missing for several days, was recovered buried beneath the floor of a house in Yusufnagar, Muradnagar, Cumilla.
According to local residents, Monir Mia had been missing for a considerable period. His family filed a general diary (GD) at the police station just a day before the body was discovered. The following day, his body was found buried under the floor of his younger brother’s wife’s room.
The discovery has sparked outrage in the area, with locals claiming the murder was premeditated and that members of Monir’s own family may have been involved.
When contacted for comment on the incident, Muradnagar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Zahidur Rahman expressed reluctance to discuss the matter and abruptly hung up the phone.
Monir Mia’s family alleges that he was killed in a planned murder and that there are attempts to cover up the crime. They have demanded a fair and thorough investigation and justice for the killing.
It is worth noting that Yusufnagar has seen several similar mysterious incidents in the past, raising repeated questions about the role and effectiveness of the authorities.
