Hindustan Surkhiyan Desk: Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader today said that his party is in favour of using Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) in the upcoming general election to be held at the end of December.
“Many countries in the world are using EVMs to save time and expenditure. And thus, we are in favour of using the system,” said Quader, also the minister for Road Transport and Bridges.
Quader told this to reporters while he was visiting Dhaka-Mymensingh highway in Gazipur area today, reports our correspondent.
He also said that his party would comply with the Election Commission’s decision in this regard.
Referring to the opposition parties’ efforts to form a national unity, the Awami League leader warned that the government will respond appropriately if anyone attempts to create any subversive acts ahead of the national election.
“We will face any challenge that appears ahead of the election,” he added.
