Hindustan Surkhiyan Desk: What surely rings an alarm is that New Psychoactive Substances (NPS), a new kind of drug, has been seized at Dhaka airport for the very first time.
It was brought in under the label of “green tea” – a huge stash of 400 kilograms – a few days ago. It was inspected by anti-narcotics department and seized today.
Khorshed Alam, assistant director of Department of Narcotics Control (DNC), Dhaka Metro (North), confirmed the development to The Daily Star and said it came from Ethiopia.
A team of DNC headed by Additional Director Nazrul Islam of detective branch of DNC and supervised by DIG Masum Rabbani, director (operations) of DNC, made the haul.
This novel drug has effects like yaba, he added.
