Hindustan Surkhiyan Desk: The 11th national election is going to be held tomorrow under the complete supervision of the Election Commission (EC) and the Awami-League-led government is merely providing assistance to them, Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader said today.

“It (the election) is going to be held like the other previous elections. It’s (the election) on the right track,” Quader, also Road Transport and Bridges minister, said.

He came up with the remark while responding to the reporters’ queries at Noakhali district unit office of AL in the district town this morning.

About opposition party’s directives on its party activists to guard polling centres, he said, “We will also guard the polling centres to maintain the law and order situation so that voters can cast their votes peacefully tomorrow (December 30).”

“Tomorrow’s election will be held in a festive and peaceful manner and we are confident that we will win. There is no doubt about it,” he said adding “All is well that ends well”.

The Jatiya Oikyafront on December 16 urged its leaders and activists to form committees to guard polling stations across the country during the election to be held tomorrow.

“Form a 100-member guard committee with locals for each polling station. The members will take position in the polling stations and will not leave before the voting ends,” ASM Abdur Rob, a top Oikyafront leader, told a roadside rally in Gazipur’s Tongi.

He urged the leaders and activists to wake up early on the voting day and go to the polling stations to inspect ballot boxes.

“Take an oath that you will give your life but not leave the polling stations without the result,” he said.
