Hindustan Surkhiyan Desk: Welcoming the Supreme Court’s decision to hold day-to-day hearing of Ayodhya dispute, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh on Friday said that it hoped that the long-pending dispute will be resolved.
Expressing hope that legal obstacles in the way of construction of Ram temple will be removed soon, Sangh quoted its general secretary Bhaiyyaji Joshi as saying: “We welcome the Supreme Court’s decision to hold day to day hearing from August 6. We are hopeful that the long-pending dispute will be resolved within a definite timeframe and legal hurdles in temple construction will be removed and construction of a grand temple will start.”
Earlier today, the Supreme Court ordered day-to-day hearing from August 6 of the politically sensitive Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid land dispute case, noting that mediation efforts have failed.
The apex court took note of the report of the three member mediation panel, headed by former apex court judge FMI Kalifulla, that the mediation proceedings which went on for about four months have not resulted in any final settlement and it has to decide the matter pending before it.
“We have received the report submitted by Justice (Retd) F M I Kalifulla, the Chairman of the Mediation Committee. We have perused the same. The mediation proceedings have not resulted in any final settlement. We, therefore, have to proceed with the hearing of the cases/appeals, which will commence on and from August 6 (Tuesday),” said a 5-judge bench headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi.
