Hindustan Surkhiyan Desk:BNP today claimed that its Joint Secretary General Habib-un-Nabi Khan Sohel has been picked up from an apartment in Malibagh area.

The party’s Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi came up with the claim while talking to The Daily Star this morning. “We don’t know his whereabouts. We highly condemn the act.”

Sohel stands accused in three cases filed with Shahbagh and Ramna Police Station on charge of attack on cops, vandalism and snatching two party activists from a police van on January 30.

Contacted, Rapid Action Battalion Director (media wing) Mufti Mahmud Khan told The Daily Star that Sohel was not in the custody of the elite force.

Devdas Bhattacharya, additional commissioner of Detective Branch, Dhaka Metropolitan Police, told The Daily Star that Sohel was not in detective custody either.

Ramna zone police Deputy Commissioner Maruf Hossain Sarder echoed the same and affirmed that Ramna police did not arrest Sohel over the cases he was accused in.
