Hindustan Surkhiyan Desk:BNP senior leaders are likely to meet party’s Chairperson Khaleda Zia, who is now at the old Central Jail on Nazimudding Road in Dhaka, tomorrow for the first time since her imprisonment in a graft case.
A nine-member team led by Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, secretary general of the party, will meet Khaleda Zia around 3:00pm upon permission of the jail authority, Shamsuddin Didar, a staff of Khaleda Zia’s media wing, told The Daily Star.
Other members of the team are: BNP standing committee members Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Moudud Ahmed, Jamiruddin Sircar, Lt Gen (retd) Mahbubur Rahman, Abdul Moeen Khan, Nazrul Islam Khan, Mirza Abbas and ABM Abdus Sattar private secretary to Khaleda Zia.
The delegation will inquire health condition of Khaleda and discuss on the progress of her legal battle, according to source.
On February 8, a special court sentenced the three-time prime minister to five years rigorous imprisonment in the much-talked-about Zia Orphanage trust graft case.
