Hindustan Surkhiyan Desk:Actress Sridevi, 54, one of the most celebrated actresses of the Hindi film industry, and widely regarded as its first female superstar, has passed away.
The news was confirmed to HuffPost by a member of the actor’s family.
According to sources, the English Vinglish actress had gone to Ras al Khaimah for Kapoor’s nephew Mohit Marwaha’s wedding. While her husband and daughter Khushi returned to Mumbai, Sridevi stayed back in Dubai, where she suffered a sudden cardiac arrest.
Her elder daughter, Jhanvi Kapoor, hadn’t joined the family for the celebrations as she is shooting for her debut film, Dhadak, which is expected to release in July this year.
Incidentally, Boney Kapoor’s first wife, Mona Kapoor, too had passed away, months before her son Arjun’s film debut.
Sridevi’s last film was the critically-acclaimed Mom. Having made a rousing comeback with English Vinglish and followed it up with Mom, she had been cast in Dharma Productions’ yet-to-start Shiddat, which is being directed by 2 States’ Abhishek Varman.
