A Dhaka court has sent JKG Health Care Chairman Dr Sabrina Arif Chowdhury to jail after rejecting her bail petition in a case filed over the fake Covid-19 test scam.
Metropolitan Magistrate Md Atiqul Islam gave the order on Monday when DB Inspector Md Liakat Ali, also the investigation officer in the case, produced her before the court after completing a two-day remand.
After remand back prayer, the investigation officer said the accused provided important information during her remand and needs to be kept in jail for further investigation.
Meanwhile, Dr Sabrina’s counsel Md Saifuzzaman Tuhin filed a bail petition.
After hearing both the sides, the court sent her to jail. ❑
