Hindustan Surkhiyan Desk: Vehicles are moving slowly but there are no tailbacks on the highways across the country ahead of Eid-ul-Azha, Road, Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said today.

The minister said this while talking to journalists after visiting the Mohakhali Bus Terminal in Dhaka around 11:00am.

“Yesterday, the highway faced pressure of vehices for Thursday’s bad weather and cattle transportations,” the minister said.

When a journalist asked him whether he would say that today’s journey is smooth also, the minister said that people are leaving Dhaka comfortably but vehicles are facing problem a little while entering the capital.

About complaints of extra fares being charged from the home goers, Quader says that he has no such information.

“You have to provide the information about who is charging extra and where,” Quader told a journalist who raised the issue.

Asked about the mechanism his ministry uses to know about the allegations of charging extra fairs, he said “He who raises the complaint will have to provide the information,”.

He however admitted that some irregularities are taking place despite all the vigilance in the sector.
