Hindustan Surkhiyan Desk: In qualifier 1 of VIVO Indian Premier League 2019 (IPL 2019), MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings (CSK) shall be taking on Mumbai Indians (MI) at the M A Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Tuesday.

The match is scheduled to commence at 7 pm. While the winner of tonight’s clash shall secure a place in the grand finale of the tournament, the loser gets another shot at the title clash by taking on the winner of the eliminator between Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians made it to the playoffs after the multi-time champions finished the league assignment of the tournament securing the top two places in the points table. While CSK has been pretty consistent all through the tournament, Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians once again picked up the winning momentum towards the business end of the tournament.

Chennai would certainly have the home advantage playing on their home turf at Chepauk but they would be vary of MI as they are the only team to beat the yellow brigade at Chepauk in the league phase.

The spinners would have a major role to play at Cheapuk which is considered a rank turner. While CSK has a lethal spin armoury boasting of Imran Tahir, Harbhajan Singh and Ravindra Jadeja, Mumbai Indians would mull playing with two spinner in their playing eleven. The Blue Brigade has been well served by young leggie Rahul Chahar and Krunal Pandya.

The seamers from both teams have been in rich wicket taking form for their respective sides. While the ever dependable fast bowling pair of Lasith Malinga and Jasprit Bumrah have consistently provided the breakthroughs for Mumbai with the new ball, Deepak Chahar has been a revelation for CSK this season, with his potent swing and seam.

Both CSK and MI have plenty of firepower in their batting arsenal and their stroke-makers have been in run scoring form. Mumbai Indians have been provided by their openers Quinton De Cock and Hardik Pandya at the start of the innings. The most feature of MI’s batting has been the destructive power hitting by Kieron Pollard and Hardik Pandya, both of whom have played some match winning cameos.

For CSK, skipper Dhoni has led from the front, winning nerve wreaking encounters for his team with some whirwind cameos. There have been meaningful contributions from Faf Du Plessis, Ambati Rayadu and Suresh Raina in the middle order for Chennai Super Kings.

So in a nutshell, expect a cracker of a game later in the evening at Chepauk as two of the most succesful teams in the Indian Premier League shall be locking horns, vying for a place in the grand finale.
