Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has placed a wreath at the National Memorial in Savar to pay rich tributes to the heroic martyrs of the Liberation War of Bangladesh.
After the formalities at the airport, Modi went straight to the National Memorial in Savar and placed a wreath at 12.10am.
Earlier Narendra Modi arrived in Dhaka on Friday morning on a two-day state visit to attend the celebration programme of the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the golden jubilee of Bangladesh’s independence.
On his arrival at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) in Dhaka, Narendra Modi was received by his counterpart Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
A red carpet was rolled out at the airport to welcome him.❐
