Hindustan Surkhiyan Desk: Army Chief Bipin Rawat on Sunday accused neighbouring country Pakistan of trying to vitiate the ongoing festive atmosphere in India and stressed on the fact that people need to be a bit more careful during the season to put off the anti national forces.
Rawat said that the anti national forces should be prevented from succeeding in their nefarious designs. He said that the way India is progressing steadily , is not being liked by them.
While addressing media he said: “See we have a neighbouring country which always tries to vitiate atmosphere here.
Our country is progressing which is not liked by them.”
A day ago, Rawat had cautioned people that attempts were being made by “external linkages” to “revive insurgency” in Punjab and Assam, which necessitates an early action. He said that attempts were being made to disrupt peace in Punjab which is progressing at a fast pace.
“I have been reading what is coming out in the media. There is Referendum 2020 coming in the UK… Whatever we call it but there is an attempt being made to disrupt the peace again in Punjab,” he said.
He said terror modules have been busted in the state recently ad people need to be alert.
Citing example of UK, Rawat said Punjab is one such state where militancy ended completely because people of the state stopped it.
People took to streets in London on August 12 in support of a pro-Khalistan rally. The Sikhs for Justice group had said its rally was intended to raise awareness for a non-binding referendum in 2020.
