Hindustan Surkhiyan Desk:A show-cause has been issued to Awami League’s candidate for Barisal city Sadiq Abdullah over flouting electoral conduct and electioneering during prohibition.
“Sadik Abdullah has been asked to comply with the notice by 6:00pm today,” Assistant Returning Office Md Helal Uddin told our local correspondent.
Obaidur Rahman, a mayor candidate of Islami Andolon Bangladesh, lodged the complaint with stating that Abdullah held a huge showdown in city on Saturday evening despite a standing ban on campaign since Saturday midnight.
Taking the allegation into account and based on facts, Election Commission issued the show-cause notice asking him to comply with the notice, the EC official said.
