The committee formed by the home ministry to investigate the killing of Major (retd) Sinha Md Rashed Khan in police firing, is interrogating former Teknaf Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Pradeep Kumar Das and two other accused at Cox’s Bazar District Jail.
The quizzing, led by the head of the probe body Chattogram Additional Divisional Commissioner (Development) Mahmud Mizanur Rahman, began at Cox’s Bazar District Jail gate around 11 am on Monday (August 17).
OC Pradeep, Inspector Liaqat Ali and Sub-inspector Nandadulal Rakshit will be interrogated today separately in a case filed by slain Sinha’s sister.
Major (retd) Sinha was killed in police firing in Teknaf on the night of July 31.
His elder sister Sharmin Shahria Ferdaus filed the murder case accusing nine policemen on August 5.
On the same day Pradeep was withdrawn from Teknaf Police Station.
A local court on August 6 sent seven of the nine accused to the district jail rejecting their bail petitions.❐
