Hindustan Surkhiyan Desk:Tamim Iqbal has become incredibly dependable for Bangladesh, especially in the ODI format as he has been consistently among the runs this year. The left-hander said that he is benefitting from talks he had with new batting consultant Neil Mckenzie, who was appointed last month by the Tigers.
“I think he has a lot to offer for Bangladesh. I think he has been fantastic and we have a lot to learn from how he thinks about batting,” Tamim said of Mckenzie.
Tamim struck two hundreds and a fifty in the three-match ODI series which Bangladesh won 2-1 against the West Indies. He also came good in the second T20I, hitting a magnificent 44-ball 74. Such performances marked Tamim’s ongoing improvement but he reiterated that there is room for development and having talked to Mckenzie, he can advance his game further if he applies himself accordingly. He said that he was already looking forward to further discussions with Bangladesh’s new batting consultant.
“I am excited to be working with him and on a personal level, I liked what he told me. If I can listen to him and better myself then I can improve myself 5-10% more. There is room for improvement.
“So, I hope that by working with him, I can absorb things that I am learning and I believe others will do the same,” Tamim concluded.
