The Shah Foundation, a New York based organization, has come forward to help the people affected by the recent floods in Hatibandha, Lalmonirhat, Bangladesh.
Shah J Chowdhury, the Chairman of Shah Foundation, said that, the people of Hatibandha Upazila have been severely affected by the recent floods. They are suffering from lack of food. The Shah Foundation, with its limited resources, has come forward to provide food assistance to these affected and waterlogged people.
The Shah Foundation provided food aid to 500 families in Gaddimari Union on June 19. The food items distributed included rice, pulses, oil and potatoes.
The chief guest of the food aid event was Motahar Hossain MP, freedom fighter and Member of Parliament for Lalmonirhat-1. The event was presided over by Gaddimari UP Chairman, Principal Abu Bakkar Siddique Shyamal.
Hatibandha Upazila Nirbahi Officer Shamiul Amin, Upazila Awami League General Secretary Mahmudul Hasan Sohag and Gaddimari Union Awami League General Secretary Eliza Yasmin were present on the occasion. The Gaddimari Union Juba League President Mohammad Rahman, Union Chhatra League President Shahidul Islam, General Secretary Humayun Kabir, Organizing Secretary, Roman and public representatives and political personalities were present on the occasion.
