Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader today said there is no scope to invite BNP to join the election-time supportive government as they have no representation in the parliament.
He made the remark while talking to reporters after inaugurating work on the Kurigram-Rajarhat-Teesta road this afternoon.
Quader, also the minister for Road Transport and Bridges, said Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) is not the source of power of Awami League; rather Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal had been the source of all power of BNP.
“Khaleda Zia used to openly say Chhatra Dal is enough to face Awami League. But we’ll never use BCL to tackle BNP,” he said.
He also said BCL will be re-organised within the next three months following directives from the prime minister. “Its new council will be held in March,” he said.
The ruling party leader said if any BCL man gets involved in any wrong doing, he will be punished for that.
